The Academy at Miracosta is a public high school located on the American West Coast, serving the students of California since 1950. The school is located on the campus of a college, thus many high school students graduating from the academy choose to continue their education in the college without having to change their location. Students there are out in the academic environment cultivating the pursuit of excellence with many offerings in AP and Honors classes not only in the core academics, but also in Visual and Performing Arts, some of the Advanced Placement classes include: AP Studio Art, AP English Literature and Composition, AP French Language and more, of which students can take up to 4 per year which itself is enough for colleges to recognize a student as fully prepared and capable. This is showcased in many of the graduates being admitted to top California and US colleges, like Brown University or University of California, Berkeley. Perhaps the most impressive part of the academic curriculum is the variety and in-depth semester or year long classes in the english department like Creative Writing or even Apocalypse Literature. The high academy offers many athletics with both boys and girls teams like volleyball, basketball and even baseball. There are also many extracurricular opportunities among which are summer camp, Aerospace Engineering, Animal Rescue and other clubs. Being a public school, MiraCosta high school is free of tuition, but many excellent students from the school qualify for the Merit programs for college education showing the dedication of the school’s staff to make the best out of each individual student.
