University General Course

ESL (English as a Second Language) is English language program on the basis of higher education institutions. ESL is perfect for students seeking higher education abroad. The program combines intensive study of the English language: writing, reading, listening, speaking. In addition to learning English, the program provides high-level preparation for studying in a higher education institution, helps in gaining the necessary academic skills for further education. This program prepares students for successful undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Most important is to study at the university with on campus accommodation, when the student integrates as much as possible into the university community and adapts to university education. If your goal is to learn a foreign language, without further study abroad, then short-term university-based sessions will make your program full of respectability inherent in ranking foreign universities.
Nevertheless, the main task of the sessions is to help with the choice of a university, to give an opportunity to “probe” the training in each of them, without risking large budget.
The main advantage of this program over a general language course at a language school is complete immersion in the university environment, the opportunity to participate in student activities, access to all university and campus resources, and academic advisory support.
The disadvantages of this program are:
• entry requirements: as a rule, ESL is not suitable for students with an initial level of English;
• price: ESL is more expensive than a language course in a language school;
• fixed program dates: unlike a language school where you can start classes every Monday.

Entry requirements: language level B1
